Problem with Sunlight in Main Lobby

SUBJECT: Problem with Sunlight in Main Lobby

Our main-lobby receptionist is having a problem with the blinding sunlight streaming in through the windows above the revolving doors. On sunny days, she is unable to sit comfortably at her desk until midmorning or even later. In addition to her discomfort, visitors seated in the lobby have frequently commented on their discomfort.

I’d like to suggest blinds be installed or some kind of coating be applied to the window to cut the glare and to protect from the rays. If some solution is not found by the summer months, we will have to rearrange the lobby completely.

Please let me know on which solution you decide, and I’ll handle the details.

Beaumont Welding Center Addition, AFE 22-426–Request for Approval on Additional Space

SUBJECT:      Beaumont Welding Center Addition, AFE 22-426–Request for Approval on Additional Space  After reviewing preliminary plans for the Beaumont Welding

Center addition, Bob Taylor and J. B. Hardwick think the additional space should be increased by 140 square feet. This additional space (including an adjustment for a four percent inflation rate on the first estimate) will increase the total budget item to $107,600. This additional space will allow room for three desk clerks, lockers, and file cabinets. The most practical size would be to increase the depth from 10’6″ to 12’ and the length from 30’ to 38’, a total of 140 square feet. The original estimate submitted in June was based on $102 per square foot; therefore, the estimate needs to be increased by $14,280 (140’ x $102), plus the 10 percent inflation rate on the entire project.

Do I have your approval to proceed?
